Moy Valley athletes Cormac McDermott and Conor McLoughlin will join fellow clubmate Kellan Kilrehill on the Connaught endurance development squad in recognition of progress they are making in their middle distance events. Cormac is the Connaught champion over 800m on the track and will represent Mayo in the national Community Games finals over 1500m. Conor McLoughlin was placed third over 3000m on the track in the Connaught championships and participated in the recent All-Ireland championships. Conor will represent Mayo in the national Community Games finals over the 7km ‘marathon’ event.
Keelan has been a member of the endurance squad already and demonstrated in recent weeks that he is back to top form again in winning the Connaught 3000m title and placing 4th in the All-Ireland championships. Keelan will also participate in the national Community Games finals over the 7km ‘marathon’ event and he will represent Sligo in this event.
Well done to all three athletes who are very dedicated to their training and will no doubt be trailblazers for other club athletes to aspire to this level of performance.
