Moy Valley AC juvenile members will be competing this Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st of August, in the National Community Games finals in Athlone. All-Ireland Community Games semi-finals

Best of luck to all members of the Mayo Cross Country team who will compete in the All Ireland Community Games semi-finals this Saturday the 13th August. The group have travelled from all parts of Mayo to train on the magnificent Belleek cross country course over the past few weeks supported by dedicated Moy Valley AC coach, Philip Finnerty. The team have trained very well and we wish them all the very best of luck.

Rock ‘n Roll Half marathon

Moy Valley AC was delighted to make a contribution to the Anthony Golden Trust Fund through participation in the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon in the Phoenix Park on the 7th of August. Six of our dedicated adult athletes (Ailbe, Elaine, Orla, Eamonn, Ray, Stuart) set their sights on this race and completed this demanding course and as the photos below demonstrate, it does not appear to have troubled them unduly. Well done to all and a great cause!

Last one running – victory for Michael Canty

Recent winner of the Ballina Salmon Festival 5K, our own Michael Canty, won the 'Last one running' competition in Westport on the 23rd of July.

In this competition, runners had 30 minutes to complete a 3.4k loop, of the Westport Town Greenway. Once finished the loop, runners entered the holding area and waited for the start of the next loop. All runners back within 30 minutes started again but the next loop must be completed in 29 minutes. Any runner not finished inside the time limit...

Good luck and safe journey to club members who are competing on days 2 and 3 of the All Ireland Outdoor Championships in Tullamore on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of July.

Catherine O'Reilly will compete in her first All-Ireland championships when she runs in the girls U14 1500m.
